Therapy

As a professional coach and therapist in training, I cannot solve your problems. But by listening without judging, by acting as a sounding board, by asking questions, by confronting you with yourself, I will try to help you gain more insight into what is going on beneath the unpleasant behaviour on the surface. What causes you to keep ‘relapsing’ into your old habits, despite the fact that you would like to use less?

During an initial exploratory meeting, we get to know each other better. You tell me about your problem or what you want to change. I ask a lot of questions to get a clear picture of you and your problems. I not only use conversation techniques, but also work with photos, drawings, feelings and values cards, constellations, breathing exercises, meditation... to go beyond the story and explore together where the cause or core of the addiction lies.

Body-oriented psychotherapy combines traditional talk therapy with techniques that focus on the body, such as breathing exercises, meditation, movement, touch and body awareness. One of the main advantages of better contact with the body and emotions is that it improves self-awareness and self-regulation. It can also help release physical tension and blockages, making clients feel freer and more energetic.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is another approach that works well. People usually look for a coach when they want to get rid of something: an addiction, unpleasant thoughts, anxious or depressive feelings. The goal of ACT is to realise behavioural change by no longer fighting unwanted behaviour or fleeing from negative feelings and thoughts, but instead by accepting these feelings and distancing yourself from thoughts. During the sessions, we do not only focus on what you want to get rid of, but especially on what you find important in your life and how you can get there step by step. The approach is experience-based. We use practical exercises, metaphors and mindfulness exercises. You will also be asked to continue working on this at home.
